What do I need to do to qualify my pet for the Direct Release Program?

What do I need to do once my plane lands?
If you are contracted with Central Maui Animal Clinic, Kelly will be meeting your pet and awaiting your arrival. The airline is responsible for bringing all arriving animals to the Airport Animal Quarantine Holding Facility. Pets qualifying for direct release will be met by Kelly and processed at the facility, which is located on the airport grounds. Kelly will have made prior arrangements with you to meet up with her and your pet(s) for completion of required paperwork. Pets allowed to fly in the passenger cabin will be met by Kelly at the gate and processed immediately.
How long does it take to process a pet for direct release at the airport?
Processing times vary, depending on how long it takes your airline to deliver your pet to the inspection facility and the number of pets arriving for inspection at the same time. Generally, processing time is within an hour from the time the pet is received. However, problems with paperwork may increase processing time.
